FAQ

What does an osteopath do?
An osteopath assesses, diagnoses, and treats musculoskeletal pain—like back pain, neck pain, and joint problems—using hands-on techniques and tailored advice.
Do I need a referral to see an osteopath in Camberley?
No, you don’t need a referral. You can book directly with Claire Faragher Osteopathy in Camberley. The exception to this is when you are using certain health insurance such as AXA or BUPA that need pre-approval from your insurance company before your session.
What should I wear to my osteopathy appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. If you’re happy to, bringing shorts and a vest top is ideal—especially for treatments involving your back, neck, or limbs. You’re welcome to change when you arrive. If you prefer to stay more covered, treatment can often be carried out through thin layers of clothing. Your privacy and modesty are always respected, and towels or covers are provided as needed.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients need 3–5 sessions for acute issues, while chronic or complex conditions may require more. There’s no pressure to book multiple sessions in advance—we don’t block book, and you’re always free to decide if and when you’d like a follow-up. Your treatment plan is tailored to your needs and preferences.
